Before the reconstruction the building of the fire station located on the entrance to Turtino village was used as a garage for vehicles that went out of service. The concept of the refurbishment pays attention to the original structure of the building and proposes the construction of a wooden “cover” around the existing brick block. The suggested façade stands out with the newly built fire lookout tower – a dominant element marking the entry to the village and the meeting point both for the local community and tourists. The core function of the space is preserved throughout the renovation and complemented by the office for workers from the nearest farm and the community center for inhabitants and guests of Turtino.
